San Francisco, October 11, 2011 – ReCellular, Inc., the world's largest collector and re-processor of used mobile phones, has hired Environics Communications as its new national public relations agency.

ReCellular resold or recycled more than 5 million cell phones in 2010. The company collects cell phones at more than 40,000 drop-off locations nationwide and offers hundreds of choices in phones for resale including the latest iPhone, Android and BlackBerry models.

Environics will be developing and implementing a marketing communications campaign to promote ReCellular among key target audiences including consumers, retailers, industry partners, environmental organizations and the media. The agency's work will include strategic messaging, traditional and digital media relations, third-party and charitable partnerships, and industry relations.

"Environics offers ReCellular a strong combination of business-to-business and business-to-consumer experience in the telecommunications and sustainability sectors," said Joe McKeown, vice president of marketing and communications at ReCellular. "They clearly understand the business, technology, environmental and charitable aspects of our business, and we're delighted to be working with them as we continue to expand our global leadership position in our industry."

"We are excited about the opportunity to work with ReCellular on a campaign that benefits consumers and calls attention to a growing environmental concern," said Jonelle Birney Sullivan, general manager of Environics' San Francisco office, which opened earlier this summer and is leading the ReCellular account.
